Key dates for Qurbani 2027
Islamic dates follow the moon, so treat these as estimates and leave a day either side.
- Dhul Hijjah begins: around 7 May 2027.
- Day of Arafah: around 15 May 2027.
- Eid al-Adha: around 16 May 2027, when Qurbani begins.
Open orders four to six weeks before Eid
Most donors place their Qurbani in the weeks before Eid, with a rush in the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Open orders in early April, push hardest in the first ten days, and set a clear closing date so your teams in the field can plan.
Make the choices simple
Donors usually choose a country, a type of animal or a share, and sometimes who the Qurbani is on behalf of. Keep the form to those choices, show what each one provides, and explain clearly what happens if a country fills up.
Answer the questions donors ask
- Is my Qurbani done on time, and how will I know?
- Can I give Qurbani on behalf of someone else?
- Who receives the meat, and how is it shared?
- What is the difference between Qurbani and Sadaqah?
Put the answers on the appeal page, not in a separate FAQ few people open.
Report back after Eid
Donors remember the charity that tells them their Qurbani was done. Send a short update after Eid, with images that respect the people receiving it, and invite donors to give again before the next season.
