How charities can plan the last ten nights of Ramadan 2027: the dates, nightly giving, a message for each night, media on the odd nights, and Zakat al-Fitr.

When are the last ten nights in 2027?

If Ramadan begins around Monday 8 February 2027, the last ten nights begin around the evening of 27 February. The odd nights, when many Muslims seek Laylat al-Qadr, fall around the evenings of 27 February and 1, 3, 5 and 7 March. The 27th night is around the evening of 5 March. Every date depends on the moon.

Why this week matters

For many Muslim donors, the last ten nights are the most important of the year. Giving in these nights is seen as especially rewarded, and many donors spread their gifts across all ten to be sure of giving on Laylat al-Qadr. For many charities, it is the biggest giving week of the year.

Our own data points the same way: in Human Care International’s Ramadan 2026 campaign, the posts around the last ten nights and Zakat al-Fitr were among the strongest of the whole campaign.

Offer a way to give every night

The most effective product for this week is automated nightly giving: the donor chooses an amount, and it is given every night for the last ten. Services such as MyTenNights made it popular, and many charities now offer it on their own donation pages. Make it the main ask from about a week before the 21st night.

Plan a message for each night

Ten nights means ten chances to speak to donors without repeating yourself. Plan one short message for each night, whether a story, a project, an update or a reminder, with extra attention on the odd nights. Schedule them in advance, so nobody is writing posts at midnight.

Put the budget where the giving is

Shift paid media towards the evenings of the last ten nights, and especially the odd nights. Retarget people who visited your appeal earlier in the month, and keep search campaigns running for searches such as “Laylat al-Qadr donation”.

Don’t forget Zakat al-Fitr

Zakat al-Fitr is due before the Eid prayer, so its reminders run alongside the last ten nights. Give it its own short, simple page and a clear deadline.

Thank donors on Eid

Nightly donors have given ten times. Thank them on Eid, tell them what their nights paid for, and invite them to keep giving monthly.

Checklist

  • Nightly giving set up and tested
  • A message planned for every night
  • Media weighted to the odd nights
  • A Zakat al-Fitr page live, with the deadline
  • The Eid thank-you ready
